My regular readers will hopefully forgive the indulgence of this entry – it has nothing to do with personal training / health & fitness and is instead intended as a warning to anyone who may google a highly dishonest man called Nicholas Pledger. Please also note that I will write the name “Nicholas Pledger / Nik Pledger” very often in this piece so as to ensure that it comes as a high entry in search engines.

Nicholas Pledger / Nik Pledger / Nick Pledger (last seen in San Francisco at Practice SF, Yoga & Wellness) is known to me through a business venture in Prague, Czech Republic. He is a very charming American in his mid 40s. I will put up a photo when on of his former friends sends me one, but Pledger is easy to describe. He used to own a bar in Prague, hails I believe from Arizona originally, started life out as an astronomer, and is now a business consultant in San Francisco with new age pretensions and lots of “heal thyself” soundbites. The amusing thing about Nik Pledger is that he seems to believe that he truly is a good guy, and yet Pledger has stolen / embezzled over £16,000 from a business that he was involved with.

We have several emails where Nicholas Pledger denies being a thief, and instead claims to have borrowed the money. Being a nice guy I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but of course Pledger being Pledger it is all talk and no action. Taking something that doesn’t belong to you without permission, and keeping it for over 18 months now is not “borrowing”, Nik, it is stealing. He has now taken it upon himself to disappear.

Nicholas Pledger will no doubt attempt to raise funds for whacky business ventures wherever he goes. I strongly advise anyone he approaches to not touch this deceiving, duplicitous character with a ten mile bargepole.
