Poliquin Performance Supplements

View Comments

As the head coach of a personal training company I am often asked to recommend / endorse particular brands of nutritional supplements. This is something that I instinctively shy away from, not because I don’t have an opinion (if you have read more than one page of this blog you’ll know that opinions and me are constant bedfellows!), but because I am a total control freak who hates the idea of endorsing something that is beyond my control. For instance, although I may like certain companies I will not love them, and when it comes to making professional recommendations I am vastly more comfortable with love than like. Too many supplement manufacturers cut corners and skimp on quality – if I ever get the sense of that than I avoid that company forever more.

Take the example of multi vitamins as a good example of the way the business works. I have written a more detailed piece up on the main Ultimate Performance website, but in short virtually EVERY single supplement company shortchanges their consumers by adding inferior (cheaper) magnesium oxide / carbonate to their multi vit, rather than the infinitely superior chelated forms. One can be absorbed at about 5% (utterly useless to you in other words!), the other 60/70/80% plus depending upon the specific form of chelate that is used.

With all my 20 years plus experience of taking countless supplements myself, and observing thousands of clients’ differing reactions to a cornucopia of different products, the one supplement company that I feel comfortable in wholeheartedly recommending is Poliquin Performance. Now I have to come clean, as not only have I witnessed (and personally felt) fantastic results with Poliquin products, but I also do know Charles Poliquin personally. The fact that I know the man as a perfectionist whose knowledge of how to control the human body through diet, exercise and hyper intelligent, cutting edge supplementation is almost unparalleled gives my belief in Poliquin Performance a substantial grounding.

The Poliquin Performance product line itself is highly specialised and in many ways a tad too advanced for most casual observers. Much of it is very specific to an individuals unique needs and biochemistry, and is aimed at those who have benefited from a BioSignature Modulation assessment. However, the more general products aimed at bodybuilding, such as Poliquin BCAAs, Poliquin Beta-Alanine Supreme, and the range of Poliquin fish oils / omega 3s are genuinely brilliant products for almost everyone seeking to tone up, beef up, or just get the best out of their own gym / athletic performance. Anyone who has seen me working out can’t help but notice the two distinctive tubs of Poliquin products (BCAAs and Beta Alanine) that I always trudge around with whilst training. After all, if I don’t practice what I preach how can I hope to ever be taken seriously!

  • Interesting post, i bookmarked your blog, best regards
  • I found your blog via Google while searching for nutritional supplements and your post regarding n Performance Supplements looks very interesting to me. I could not believe the amount of quality material on this site. The site is extremely eyecatching and pulls the reader straight it, the articles are great quality and are very professionally written. I have seen too many of these sites where it looks like they pay an 8 year old to do the writing - Not this one. Your site is easily the best that I have seen in a long while.
  • Good site I \"Stumbledupon\" it today and gave it a stumble for you.. looking forward to seeing what else you have..later
  • Interesting that you mention magnesium oxide. We are importing magnesium oxide wall board to use in placeof sheetrock in our house construction !!

It is mined in the orient and they form it into boards and panels...waterproof, hard as a rock, etc...so i don't think the human body could absorb much of it no matter what.
