Hi,
being a fellow Powerlifter and personal trainer at SG Fitness, reading your blog was very interesting, and I have to agree with everything you put on there.
It is great to see other lifters getting the word and knowledge out there.

Kevin - you can contact Caroline@UPFitness.co.uk and she will let you know my availability.

I am also running a mentorship programme aimed at personal trainers that might be of interest to you. It runs for 6 months and your Newcastle base would be no hinderance as the plan is to spend 10 hours a month for 6 months with me - 5 hours in the gym at the coal face, and 5 hours of teaching time where we cover anything that may help improve someone's personal training skills and profile. Topics and assessments will be individually decided upon at the start of the mentorship programme and can be training / nutrition / supplementation / fat loss / bodybuilding / business / gym management and set up/ marketing / article writing based...basically anything at all that will help someone become the best possible and highest profile personal trainer without all this American style BS about using smoke and mirrors and internet tall tales to convince yourself (if not your intended audience) that you are the best PT in your area.

Thank you Robert.

I'll bear what you have written in mind although four speakers and a Q&A in one day is probably at the top end of what most people can handle before there is information overload!

Martyn, Not to go too pop pom waving on anyone, but I think it could be a fantastic seminar experience. Trust me when I say that at the very least I'd expect a few sparks to fly and healthy debate to ensue during a question and answer session. This would be a much more open affair than the previous seminar and I think we'd be looking at pulling in at least 30 people to make it worthwhile. Its obviously going to be a bit more expensive than the last one too even though both are more about covering costs and offering something unique to the strength training community in the UK, so what I can do is say that if you can bring along 5 others I'll give you a space on me.

Nick,

Appreciate all the synopsized info, and cheers again for the seminar itself. It was extremely informative as well as practically inspiring.

I would be definitely interested in attending the Symposium you mentioned and look forward to hearing further info about it, if you need any input from my own profession or clinical area I would be happy to put something together that would hopefully compliment the overall message (I work across two sites in central london as a private practice physiotherapist with a personal interest and passion for strength and conditioning)

Again great sunday seminar and looking forward to the next.

Regards,

Robert M. Kavanagh MSCP ISCP NCAPHS AACP
