I am delighted to announce that we will be hosting legendary powerlifter and a true Trainer of Champions Dave Beattie at our Paul Street personal training gym next month (Sunday April 4th). Dave will be conducting a full, no holds barred seminar on any and every aspect pertaining to strength training. I am personally hugely excited about this opportunity to pick the brains of a man who has trained legends such as Andy Bolton (the first man to deadlift over 1000lbs), and who is both a world champion and world record holder (squatting over 1,000lbs whilst in his late 40s!) in his own right.
Topics that will be covered include:
Correct technique and set up for all three powerlifts – bench press, squat and deadlift.
Appropriate loading parameters
How to peak at the right time
Injury prevention – how Dave has kept lifting supremely heavy weights for over 20 years
The fastest ways to get really strong! This last point is going to be great as Dave has a number of short cuts up his sleeve to fast track progress. Although I have never been a powerlifter the importance of being strong has always been something that I have fully recognised. All things being equal a stronger person moves with more energy and vitality, has a more athletic and powerful look to their body, and can manipulate their resistance training workouts to be more effective at achieving a range of goals from fat loss right through to muscle building.
I am far more interested in using this seminar as an opportunity to spread the word on intelligent, hard, correct training methodologies rather than making a few quid, so if possible Ultimate Performance won’t be making a penny from this unique event. Typically a seminar with a world class expert of Dave Beattie’s standing costs hundreds of pounds, but if we get sufficient interest we are looking at charging £65. Please email Caroline@UpFitness.co.uk to request seminar and payment details, or alternatively reserve your spot directly by using paypal and paying our business account (simply send £55 to nick@upfitness.co.uk).
This seminar should be of huge interest to anyone looking for cutting edge tips on how to boost your strength and workout performance, but any personal trainer seeking to gain an advantage over the competition and further help their clients should jump right in and get signed up before places book out. All of my UP personal trainers will be attending and spaces are limited to a further 10 people. Remember that in our business if you want true credibility and longevity the adage “learn more to earn more” was never a truer saying.
